FAQ's

We understand you might have some questions. We’ve tried our best to answer them below for you.

Vouchers

Head to the ‘vouchers’ page in the main menu and you can find our vouchers there.

If you’re buying one of our online courses as a gift, it’s better if you buy it as a voucher from the ‘voucher’ page instead of buying the course.

There are two main reasons for this:

  1. When you buy a voucher from the ‘voucher’ page, you can make the voucher out to the receipient and send it to them as a gift. This is nicer for presentation.
  2. The main reason is when someone buys a course, the access to the course is linked to the purchase email address. So, for example, if you purchased a course as a gift, the course would appear in your online account and not the recipient’s account.

If you buy the voucher then send this to the person you want to have it, it means they can then log on and redeem the voucher and create their own online account containing the course.

At the moment all our vouchers are digital vouchers. The reason we have done this is to:

  1. Keep costs down
  2. Make the process of sending you your voucher as quick as possible.

By offering digital vouchers, your voucher is created instantly and sent to you.

Yes, you can.

You can personalise your voucher during the ordering process and then it will email you your generated voucher upon placing your order.

You can then email this to the recipient or print it off and give it to them.

You voucher will be emailed to you after your order is complete.

The generated gift voucher will contain a coupon code that the recipient can use.

The recipient will visit our website and add their chosen course to their basket.

They will then head to the checkout page at which point they will enter their coupon code in the appropriate box.

This will then amend the order total to £0.00 and they can place their order as normal.

The gift vouchers are valid for two years from the date of purchase.

Once you’ve purchased your gift voucher, it will generate you a voucher containing a one-time coupon code.

You can send this code to whoever you like.

While we generally have in-person workshops on a regular basis, we’ve had people in the past who couldn’t make the selected dates and they were pushing us to fulfil their vouchers.

While it’s not our responsibility to accomodate individual recipients, we don’t like the idea of selling vouchers that we cannot fufill.

After careful review, we decided to only sell voucher for online course which we are able to fulfill straight away.

The process at the moment will be that they should email us explaining which course date they would like to attend and we will create a discount code for them to use against an in-person workshop booking.

In-person workshop bookings include access to the online course material that will have already been purchased, so the discount code will enable them to receive some money off the full price ticket for the in-person workshop.

Upon the purchase of your selected voucher, a set of instructions will be email to you explaining the next steps.

You can forward this to the recipient once you’ve given them their voucher.

Online Courses

If you click on the main menu and visit the ‘online courses’ page, you can add your chosen course or bundle to your shopping cart.

You can then complete your order and the course will be yours.

You can access your online course by clicking on the main menu and selecting ‘my account’.

The courses you have purchased will appear in your account area.

Instructions on how to do this will also be emailed to you upon completion of your order.

This will be the same email address and password you created when you placed your order.

This is to ensure that the course is only accessible by the account that purchased it.

Of course it is.

We advise in this situation it’s best to use the same email address and password that you used to place the first order.

What might be easier will be to login into your online account and then place your order for your new course while you’re logged in.

This will ensure that the new course is linked to your account correctly.

As many as you want.

It could mean a couple of things.

  • It could mean that you are not logged in with the correct account details. The login details must match the same login details used to purchase the course in the first place.
  • It could mean that your course is on PRE-SALE, however even a pre-sale course should be visible in your ‘my account’ area.

If a course is on PRE-SALE, it will display this in the course title on the product page.

It’s been a journey to get this education site up and running. While a lot of the groundwork has been done, we have encountered several delays before launch due to technical issues trying to implement a complex system.

While we’re confident this is all sorted now, it’s made us reluctant to commit to launch dates.

For this reason, we’re currently committed to rough launch dates and these are listed on each product page.

In-person workshops

We’d recommend you joining our mailing list and we’ll send you updates as soon as we have new dates in the diary.

You can join our mailing list by scrolling down most of the pages on our site and filling in your details where is says “Join the waiting list”.

You will receive a receipt email upon completition on your order which will confirm your order.

You will also receive an email with instructions for the workshop day itself.

Details and location of each workshop will be listed on the event page for each workshop. Please check the product date on the website to confirm those details.

Yourself and your camera.

If it’s Level One, we’ll be primarily using smartphones for demonstration.

This is to simplify the whole process. It means we’re not wasting time on the day of the workshop figuring out how cameras work. We can just start taking photographs straight away which makes it fair for those who are not using DSLR’s.

Yes you can, however we won’t be able to spend a lot of time answering questions about how the camera works and what the settings/buttons mean.

We also don’t want to spend time answering questions about cameras while other people, who have no interest in manual cameras, are stood around waiting. It’s not fair on them.

This is why we advise you use your smartphone camera at the Level One workshops.

Yourself and your camera.

If it’s Level Two, we’ll be primarily using DSLR’s (or similar) for demonstration.

Level Two is about getting hands on with the cameras and asking questions about how they work.

You’ll have had access to the Level Two online course material before your in-person workshop, however the in-person workshop will be to go over this information and put what you’ve learnt into practice.

Yes it is.

Please message ahead of time if you have any dietary requirements or questions regarding catering.

The specifics of each event will be listed on the specific event page, but usually they run from 11am to 4pm.

Please check each event to confirm this.

Yes you can, however if you cancel within two weeks of the workshop there will be a £20 admin fee.

Yes, you can always cancel.

If you cancel within 14 days inclusive of the workshop date, your ticket fee will be non-refundable.

If you cancel outside of 14 days, you will be charged a £20 admin fee to cancel and we will refund the difference to you.

Yes, no problem. You just need to email us with the new person’s details and we’ll confirm this in writing.

Yes we can, but only with a parent as a chaperone.

This is due to the amount of red tape and safeguarding regulations that we’re not set up for.

Please note, there is a fee for chaperones to attend.

Please contact us for more details.

In the past they have been, but moving forward we may do some events on weekday evenings in the summer for example.
